Calendars
Each year, the Society publishes a wall calendar illustrated with historic images from our town.

The 2018 GHS Calendars are now available!

This year the theme is Old Gouldsboro Schools, featuring nostalgic images of a dozen village schools of yesteryear and of school days a century ago. Included are the 1877 Winter Harbor School of "old Gouldsboro," (now the Winter Harbor Historical Society), as well as an image of the Old West Gouldsboro School House as it was going up in flames! It also shows a new view of our famous "Queen Victoria Bell" -- once Prospect Harbor's school bell.

Calendars will be available at all GHS meetings and events, as well as at Chapter 2 in Corea and the Winter Harbor 5 & 10.

Books (To purchase, contact us for availability and more information)
The Society publishes research collections from time to time.  The most recent of these is Barns of Gouldsboro, Maine (Out of Print at present).  In 1904, the Daughters of Liberty published a compilation of local history called Historical Researches of Gouldsboro Maine, which has been reprinted by the Society.  There is also a free digital version available at HathiTrust.

From other Sources
Author Bernice Richmond wrote a newsletter, The Peninsula Gazette,  from 1954 through 1960 about the events of the Schoodic Peninsula. She recorded day to day activities and interviewed older residents for their memories of earlier history. These volumes are a fascinating chronicle of life on the Schoodic Peninsula during the first half of the 20th century.  Thanks to the Winter Harbor Library, they can be viewed here.
